Nicholas Carlin’s Story

Please help us to make a difference!

Nicholas Carlin

As another year comes to an end, ADAPT of the Hudson Valley has a lot to celebrate. Since establishing ourselves in the Hudson Valley this summer we have moved quickly to create better opportunities for people with disabilities.

Meet Nicholas. Nicholas started in our Supported Employment program in October 2017 where he began participating in Employee Training Program (ETP) at President Container Group. The ETP provides an opportunity to work in an internship that will lead to permanent employment in a community business.

At the end of a yearlong internship, Nick was hired as a permanent staff at President Container. He has been working full time, even through COVID. Thanks to the support of ADAPT of the Hudson Valley and Nicholas’ hard work, he has been able to save enough money to buy a car and get his own apartment. ADAPT of the Hudson Valley continues to help Nicholas retain his independence and he even celebrated achieving his goals with a dinner party at his house.

As we say many times, disabilities are really just different abilities; Nicholas is proof of that. Would you consider making a year-end donation to ADAPT of the Hudson Valley to help people like Nick attain the goals they’ve set for themselves? No amount it so small to help fund programs that empower people through innovative solutions.

Thank you for your support of Nicholas and ADAPT of the Hudson Valley.

Happy Holidays,
